Retentacle is your one-stop-shop for digital receipt storage and retention. Through our platform – accessible on your mobile devices and computer – you can leverage our purpose-built Retentacle email address to keep all your digital receipts in one safe place. You can also leverage our OCR capabilities to scan any paper receipts you might receive. By engaging and partnering with a spectrum of retailers, we are also aiming to accelerate the availability of digital receipts over time.
With all your receipts stored on the cloud, you can access them whenever you need them. Plus, you can use our platform to search for specific receipts, check for product recalls and to support any warranty claims.
Think about this: It takes 15 trees to create one ton of paper. Billions of receipts are generated in Canada alone every year. That means over 9.6 million trees are destroyed to create paper receipts that mostly end in landfills, creating tons of landfill trash year after year….not to mention the negative impact on the environment and peoples’ health that Bisphenol-A receipts are causing. By using Retentacle, we can work together to save our natural resources and reduce our collective carbon footprint.
Through our solution, those emails would be sent to your Retentacle inbox where you can do what you want with them, or ignore them completely. But at least they’re no longer clogging up your personal email inbox or being diverted to your “junk” folder, never to be seen again!
For retailers that offer to send you a digital receipt by email, simply provide them with your Retentacle email address (which you choose when you sign-up for the service) and your receipts will be securely stored to access at your convenience. That’s it!
Yes, in the future, we plan to offer product manufacturers and retailers the ability to issue product or service coupons directly to interested consumers through their Retentacle account.
Retentacle offers product recall notifications to consumers through its platform. These notifications can be issued by product manufacturers directly, retailers or even Retentacle, since we keep an eye on that kind of stuff. By keeping track of what Retentacle users have purchased, we can process this information quickly and contact the appropriate Retentacle users very quickly. We feel that’s way better than hearing about it in the news, often after the fact.
We’re just getting started so we do not have any retailers signed up yet to send receipts directly to us, but we are working on it! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter and we’ll be sure to tell you about the participating retailers that sign-up with Retentacle as soon as possible.
Data about consumer purchases is de-identified and anonymized, meaning people’s names and street addresses will never be shared with anyone. We intend to aggregate product purchase data across our entire user base and share that combined data with participating retailers and product manufacturers to help them make timely marketing and product development decisions. This allows us to offset the costs of operating the service, so consumers don’t have to pay for the entire cost of operating the service themselves.
We haven't built a fancy tool to let you do-it-yourself quite yet, but that is on our product roadmap. Right now, if you no longer want to store your data on Retentacle, you can simply email us at info@retentacle.com and we’ll remove your data as soon as possible. We’ll send you a confirmation once it’s all done. As we grow, we’ll develop a self-serve tool to let you do that sort of thing yourself.
At this time, you can download the Retentacle app on the Apple or Android app stores, in either Canada or the United States. Over time, we plan to expand availability to other markets.

Retentacle's modest subscription fee helps cover these expenses, ensuring that your information remains protected and accessible whenever you need it. Additionally, by charging a nominal fee, we can continue to improve our services and add features to make Retentacle even more useful. Thank you for helping us support a sustainable, high-quality service!
No problem! Simply forward the receipt email from your personal or work email inbox to your unique Retentacle email address (which you get when you register with our service), and we'll process it like any other receipt. It's a quick way to centralize all your receipts in one place, whether they come directly or through forwarding.
